The constant echoing in my ear of the disciples inquisition of the Lord to teach them to pray has me thinking a few new thoughts on how prayer is taught. The disciples compared Jesus with John the baptist who taught his disciples to pray and was expecting the same. Without good reasons of expectation they would not have had the results they heard. We can be sure they saw and heard the prayers along with the answers Jesus had. The both of them had no wealthy coffers, so they were able only to boast of those type of answers that had little or nothing to do with money. The answers were prevalent and relevant to the needs of those who inquired. What they did have was the connection to the Father in Heaven. This connection caused others to call Jesus possessed with devils, a magician or a hoax. The miracles were not disputed only by what power in which they came. Nicodemus came and told Jesus No man can do these works unless they came down from and operated with God. Nicodemus followed Jesus not because of the numbers of followers nor because of his popularity but because of these works that he did with God. Without a doubt we know that prayer is probably the most important topic outside of The Word of God.
Today I hope we seek the true riches of prayer and follow them that have this connection and works with the Father. Those leaders that become Gods conduits of Grace, Mercy Love in action. The relations with The Father we experience is evidence of the relationship we have. What God is working with you on… what are you getting from Him in Prayer.. There is so many needs that a Church can meet but Prayer with God will teach you what we need most of all.
The purpose of this post is the encouragement to all that there is no special gift of Prayer other than the gift that one can pray which is a gift to all. The way in which we learn is one of criticism and collaboration. The Bible was authorized this way and so has the doctrines from it. If true change in the culture of our lives about prayer happens so must it go the same way. There is the ability in all of us to have this relation with God in prayer that is sweet, subjective and special. It becomes absolutely essential to the growth of the Body of Christ in this area. The Body, far more reaching than just the local assembly. The impact on Culture, Society and the World. This always has been driven from thise who have an understanding of how to grow in Prayer. How to be a better watchman on the wall, a soldier of supplication, an immanent intercessor is dependent not on you. It is a selfless and service in which your ego decreases and your pride does not abide. It is a transparency of the soul exposed to those whom you commune to be controlled by the Spirit. The meekness required is infused into you. Humility is the means and the end to true prayer. No man living by feelings will amount to much in the throne room. The powerful Presence of God will melt, mold and make man to what he is meant to be. Ones opinions ideas and plans will not be needed in this upper room where your history and His story collide. The yielded warrior will wait on the Master and say and do as He wills.
This end is what is wanted in a life of Prayer, Thy will be done, Kingdom come now. How do we expect to get there without the going there together. Not being led of one another but being led together by the One. I encourage us all to help one another pray for and with everyone . Arm in arm, leaning and learning on another. The Way it was designed to work as He teaches us to pray.
